In 1963, John Good's grandfather Waldemar Schmidt opened Halsey Import Parts on NE Halsey in Portland. After being raised--literally--and spending his entire career in the shop, he inherited it from his grandfather when he passed a few years ago.

After moving to Camas with his family, the Goods scouted their beloved new home for opportunities closer to other lifetime loves, including the outdoors and fishing.  After finding the Lakeside building, John knew this was his new calling.

They loved the idea of the original Lakeside Country Store, which occupied the space for over 15 years, and wanted to bring it back with some modern updates, including local craft beers and prepared noshes. 

When we say local, we mean it! Some of our staff also live closeby!
